Introduction
So what is this Blog about?
This blog is a project, based around PLAY and learning.
I aim to learn how to use Logic to make a collection of sound works that are dictated by an element of chance.
I will be allowed 2 hours maximum on each file.
To decide what I will be allowed to use to make the files, I will be using a simple Flash number picker that will pick a number between 1 and 6.
1 - MIDI
2 - VINYL
3 - FIELD RECORDINGS
4 - MIDI + VINYL
5 - MIDI + FIELD RECORDINGS
6 - VINYL + FIELD RECORDINGS
I will give a brief synopsis of what I did to make each file and post up the finished sound file.
I will also post up the samples I used, so that people can also PLAY along. This way I aim to learn from other people.
I will also PLAY with other people (eg. collaborate) and post up the synopsis and results. I think this is a good way to learn new things.
The items I will be using will be a Macbook Pro, Logic, Midi keyboards and drum pads, PDX 3000 Turntable, RANE 56 mixer, TASCAM 122L US Soundcard, Effects pedals (Delay, Reverb, Overdrive), a selection of Vinyl and a Mic to record my field recordings.
